§ 180. Ordinances to regulate use of bicycles. The governing boards of\nmunicipal corporations as defined in section two of this chapter, may\nadopt local laws to regulate the use of bicycles on the public highways,\nstreets, avenues, walks, parks and public places within their limits.\nSuch local laws shall be supplemental and in addition to the provisions\nof the vehicle and traffic law relating to vehicles and not in conflict\ntherewith. Provided further that such local laws shall not impose any\ncharge, tax or otherwise not provide for the free use of bicycles and\ntricycles.\n
