§ 41-a. Deputy comptroller for the city of New York. In addition to\nthe deputies otherwise authorized by law, the comptroller shall, by and\nwith the advice and consent of the senate, appoint a deputy comptroller\nfor the city of New York. Such deputy may be removed or replaced by the\ncomptroller and shall receive an annual salary to be fixed by the\ncomptroller within the amounts appropriated therefor. Such deputy may\nperform any of the powers or duties of the comptroller and he shall\nassist the New York state financial control board created pursuant to\nsection five of the New York state financial emergency act for the city\nof New York in carrying out and exercising the responsibilities assigned\nand powers granted to such board.\n
