§ 9-1711. Aquatic invasive species inspection stations in the Adirondack\n park.\n 1. The department may establish aquatic invasive species inspection\nstations at any location in the Adirondack park and within a ten-mile\nradius of the Adirondack park boundary, including, but not limited to\nlocations adjacent to or near waters; and at state-owned facilities to\nprovide compliance with the requirements of section 9-1710 of this\ntitle.\n 2. When an aquatic invasive species inspection station adjacent to a\npublic waterbody is open for operation, owners or operators of motorized\nwatercraft who are not in possession of either a self-issuing\ncertification or an inspection or decontamination certificate from an\naquatic invasive species inspection station, issued since the last

§ 9-1711. Aquatic invasive species inspection stations in the Adirondack\n park.\n 1. The department may establish aquatic invasive species inspection\nstations at any location in the Adirondack park and within a ten-mile\nradius of the Adirondack park boundary, including, but not limited to\nlocations adjacent to or near waters; and at state-owned facilities to\nprovide compliance with the requirements of section 9-1710 of this\ntitle.\n 2. When an aquatic invasive species inspection station adjacent to a\npublic waterbody is open for operation, owners or operators of motorized\nwatercraft who are not in possession of either a self-issuing\ncertification or an inspection or decontamination certificate from an\naquatic invasive species inspection station, issued since the last\noperation of such watercraft in a waterbody, shall obtain such\ncertification or certificate before entering the public waterbody to\nensure compliance with section 9-1710 of this title. The department\nshall maintain on their website a list of such stations and their\noperating hours in order to assist motorized watercraft owners and\noperators in locating stations where they can inspect and clean their\nwatercraft.\n 3. The department or other entity designated by the department may\nissue an inspection or decontamination certificate to the owner or\nperson in possession of a motorized watercraft that has been inspected.\nSuch certificate shall include the following details: (a) the name of\nthe department or program that conducted the inspection; (b) the date,\nplace, and time of inspection; and (c) any preventative measures\nperformed.\n 4. If the department or designated entity issues an inspection or\ndecontamination certificate to the owner or person in possession of the\nmotorized watercraft, the department or designated entity may attach a\ntamperproof tag to the motorized watercraft to certify such motorized\nwatercraft arriving at a boat launch with unbroken tags could launch\nwithout an additional inspection. Such tag may only be removed prior to\na launch.\n 5. The department may recognize an inspection or decontamination\ncertificate issued by another governmental entity, if the other\ngovernmental entity adheres to the minimum standards for inspection and\ndecontamination as determined by the department, including but not\nlimited to recognized uniform standards.\n 6. Annually the department will review all data collected at aquatic\ninvasive species inspection stations, including any data from designated\nentities, to identify practical improvements to reduce the potential\nspread of aquatic invasive species.\n
