§ 37-0101. Definitions.\n As used in this article, unless the context requires otherwise:\n 1. "Oral LD (rat) toxicity" means a calculated dose of a substance\nwhich is expected to cause the death of fifty percent of an experimental\nrat population when administered orally.\n 2. "Inhalation LC (rat) toxicity" means a calculated concentration of\nsubstance in air, exposure to which is expected to cause death of fifty\npercent of an experimental rat population when inhaled.\n 3. "Dermal LD (rabbit) toxicity" means a calculated dose of a\nsubstance which is expected to cause the death of fifty percent of an\nexperimental rabbit population when applied to the skin.\n 4. "Brominated flame retardants" refers generally to any product\ncontaining a mixture of chemicals known as brominated diphenyl ether to\nprevent, reduce or retard the risk of fire in electronic devices,\nfurniture, and textiles.\n 5. "Polybrominated diphenyl ether" (PBDE) is a mixture of brominated\ndiphenyl ethers, usually marketed as pentabromodiphenyl ether or\noctabromodiphenyl ether, according to how many hydrogen atoms in the\ndiphenyloxide structure are replaced with bromine atoms.\n 6. "Process", as used in section 37-0111 of this title, shall not\ninclude the processing of metallic recyclables containing\npentabrominated diphenyl ether or octabrominated diphenyl ether that is\nconducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local\nlaws.\n 7. "Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances" or "PFAS" shall\nmean a class of fluorinated organic chemicals containing at least one\nfully fluorinated carbon atom.\n
