§ 2109. Refusal of trustee to serve. A trustee of a common school or\nunion free school district who publicly declares that he will not accept\nor serve in the office of trustee, or refuses or neglects to attend\nthree successive meetings of the board, of which he is duly notified,\nwithout rendering a good and valid excuse therefor to the other trustees\nvacates his office by refusal to serve.\n
