§ 206. Procedures for determination of representation status of local\nemployees.
1.Every government (other than the state or a state public\nauthority), acting through its legislative body, is hereby empowered to\nestablish procedures, not inconsistent with the provisions of section\ntwo hundred seven of this article and after consultation with interested\nemployee organizations and administrators of public services, to resolve\ndisputes concerning the representation status of employee organizations\nof employees of such government.\n 2. In the absence of such procedures, such disputes shall be submitted\nto the board in accordance with section two hundred five of this\narticle.\n
