§ 226-a. Patriotic observances. The county legislature and/or board of\nsupervisors, as the case may be, of any county or borough outside the\ncity of New York, is hereby authorized to appropriate and set aside each\nyear such sums it may deem proper for the purpose of providing for the\ndue and proper observance of any legal holiday, including Columbus day.\n
