1.The office shall request\nsuch specific information as the director determines to be necessary\nconcerning assistance programs and grants administered by federal,\nstate, and local agencies designed to enhance the revitalization of\ndistressed urban areas. Such report\nshall comment upon the adequacy of current methods for the dissemination\nof information to local agencies and governmental units and shall\ncontain recommendations for the improvement of the dissemination of such\ninformation.\n 3. Any applicant, located in distressed urban areas, for program\ngrants to improve the physical or economic condition of such areas may\nconfer with the office to obtain assistance in the prompt and efficient\nprocessing and review of application.\n 4. The office shall, so far as possible, render such assistance; and\nthe director may designate an officer or employee of the office to act\nas an expeditor for the purpose of:\n (a) Facilitating contacts for the applicant with state, federal or\nlocal agencies responsible for processing and reviewing grant\napplications;\n (b) Arranging conferences to clarify the interest and requirements of\nany such agency with respect to grant applications;\n (c) Considering with the agencies the feasibility of consolidating\nhearings and data required of the applicant;\n (d) Assisting the applicant in the resolution of outstanding issues\nidentified by the agencies, including delays experienced in application\nreview; and\n (e) Coordinating federal, state, and local grant application review\nactions and assistance programs to the extent practicable.\n * NB Expired March 31, 1985\n
