interim officer.] If an officer has been suspended as provided in this chapter and reinstated after final trial, he shall receive pay for the entire time of his suspension, and the court may make an order to pay the officer serving during the time of such suspension, such reasonable compensation as his services warrant, which shall be paid out of a fund to be designated by the court.
