A.The membership status of a disability retired member following termination of the disability retirement pension shall be governed by the membership provisions of the Public Employees Retirement Act. Upon reacquisition of membership, the credited service of the member at time of disability retirement shall be restored. Credited service shall not be granted for the period of disability retirement unless the retirement board has found the disability to have been the natural and proximate result of causes arising solely and exclusively out of and in the course of the disability retired member's performance of duty with an affiliated public employer.
