2.The State Law Enforcement Planning Agency created pursuant to Executive Order No. 45, dated August 13, 1968, is continued and constituted as the State Law Enforcement Planning Agency (hereinafter "agency"). For the purposes of complying with the provisions of Article V, Section IV, paragraph 1 of the New Jersey Constitution, the agency is allocated to the Department of Law and Public Safety, but, notwithstanding said allocation, the agency shall be independent of any supervision or control by the department or by any board or officer thereof. The agency shall be responsible to the Governor. L.1968, c.176, s.2; amended 2007, c.39, s.8.
