Text
An environmental impact statement on a specific legislative bill shall be prepared by the Commissioner of Environmental Protection when so directed by a majority of the legislative committee considering that bill. The legislative committee shall set a time limit up to 90 days for completion of the environmental impact statement. The legislative committee shall specify, but not limit areas of impact to be covered by the statement, including the short and long term environmental impact of such bill and any potential alternative thereto. In preparing the environmental impact statement, the Commissioner of Environmental Protection is authorized to obtain essential information from other State agencies. L.1977, c. 247, s. 4, eff.
