50:3-12. The department, after consultation with the council, may upon application give permission, in writing, to any prospective lessee to examine and inspect, with proper appliances, any of the unleased lands of the State below the southwest line and the area known as Section "E" as defined in R.S.50:1-23 for the purpose of determining their suitability or adaptability for oyster culture or propagation; but no oysters shall be permanently removed from any of those lands by virtue of any such permit. Any individual given such permission shall be required to notify the department via telephone each day prior to conducting an inspection. Amended 1979, c.199, s.45; 2007, c.338, s.52.
