The board of public utility commissioners may require operators of such interstate busses to carry insurance equal in amount to that required by law of operators of busses carrying passengers between points in this state, against loss by reason of the liability imposed by law for damages on account of bodily injury or death suffered by any person as a result of an accident occurring by reason of the ownership, maintenance or use of such autobusses. The board may require the operators of such autobusses to file with it duplicates of insurance policies or such other records as in the judgment of the board will show that the operators carry insurance against loss for liability for damages. The board may reject any policy if and when it determines, after hearing, upon notice in writing to the

The board may reject any policy if and when it determines, after hearing, upon notice in writing to the insurance company, that the company or companies writing or underwriting said policies of insurance is or are not financially responsible to respond in damages. Upon any hearing as provided herein, the burden of proving its financial responsibility shall rest upon said insurance company or companies. This section shall not be construed to require the operators of any such autobusses to carry insurance, the total amount of which shall exceed that required of operators of autobusses carrying passengers between points in this state.
