§ 48:15-18 — Entry on railway for purpose of operating; certificate, description and map

New Jersey·Title 48 PUBLIC UTILITIES
If a street railway or traction company shall, in the exercise of powers conferred by law, enter upon any railway for the purpose of operating the same, it shall within ten days thereafter file in the office of the secretary of state a certificate under its corporate seal, attested by its president or other head officer, setting forth the name of the company under which the entry shall have been made, the date of the entry and the period of time during which the possession and operation of the railway is to continue, together with a description and map of the route of the railway so entered upon. In default of the filing of such certificate, description and map, the company shall forfeit and pay to the state the sum of one hundred dollars for each day after the expiration of said ten days
