§ 45:14H-5 — Prohibited actions without license; application, requirements, fee.

New Jersey·Title 45 PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS

5. a. On or after the date sections 5, 10, and 12 of this act become operative, a person shall not:

(1)install;
(2)construct;
(3)alter;
(4)service;
(5)repair;
(6)test; or (7) maintain elevator, escalator, or moving walkway devices, or use the title or designation of "licensed" in any manner concerning these activities, unless licensed as an elevator, escalator, and moving walkway mechanic pursuant to the provisions of this act, or working under the supervision of a person so licensed, such as an apprentice. No such license shall be required for any person who installs, constructs, alters, services, repairs, tests, or maintains a chair lift device or stair lift device in a dwelling unit. b. No person shall engage in the business of contracting or advertise in any manner as an elevator
