§ 43:6A-9 — Eligibility for retirement; 5 years or more of service with additional public service; amount of pension

a. Any judge of the several courts, who shall have served at least 5 years successively as such judge and shall have attained the age of 65 years or more while serving in such office and shall have served at least 15 years in the aggregate, including such service as a judge, or in office, position, or employment of this State or of a county, municipality, board of education or public agency of this State, may retire. b. Any judge of the several courts, who shall have served at least 5 years successively as such judge and shall have attained the age of 60 years or more while serving in such office and shall have served at least 20 years in the aggregate, including such service as a judge, or in office, position, or employment of this State or of a county, municipality, board of education or public agency of this State, may retire. c. Any member of the retirement system, eligible to retire under the provisions of this section, shall receive a retirement allowance consisting of an annuity which shall be the actuarial equivalent of his accumulated deductions together with regular interest, and a pension which, when added to the member's annuity, will provide a retirement allowance during the remainder of his life in an amount equal to one-half of his final salary.
