Text

Upon the completion of the local improvements, the governing body of a local unit shall assess the costs and expenses of the flood control facility on the lands and improvements situated within that unit which are specially benefited thereby in proportion to the benefit received. When the assessment is completed it shall be filed as a report with the clerk of the governing body of the local unit who shall give notice, by advertising in one or more newspapers of general circulation in the county or municipality and by notifying each concerned property owner, by certified mail, that the report has been filed and that the governing body of the local unit will meet at a time and place designated in the notice to hear objections to the report.
