Whenever any municipality shall, pursuant to the authority granted in section 7 of this act, amend its charter only to include an alternative permitted under its plan of government and included in group C. of subsection b. of section 7 of this act, the transitional provisions of this section shall apply.

a.If the amended charter shall provide for the election of all council members for concurrent terms in a municipality where prior to the amendment council members were elected for staggered terms, at the next election at which municipal officers are elected, and at each succeeding municipal election thereafter until such time as it shall occur that all council members shall be elected at the same election, council members elected at that election shall serve for a term equal in years to t

If the amended charter shall provide for the election of council members for staggered terms in a municipality where prior to the amendment council members were elected for concurrent terms, the amendment to the charter shall take effect for the next election at which municipal officers are elected in the municipality.
