Text

The governing body may contract with any persons for the lighting of the streets, highways, parks and public places for any term not exceeding five years. The contract may provide for the erection and maintenance of the necessary poles, wires, conduits and street equipment by the municipality or the contractor. Nothing in this article shall be construed to limit or repeal any statute providing for the creation of lighting districts in townships and lighting of the streets and public places therein.
