40:66-2. The governing body may, subject to the provisions of P.L.1970, c.39 (C.13:1E-1 et seq.), erect the necessary buildings and equip the same with all appliances proper for the disposal of solid waste, and acquire the real estate necessary therefor by purchase, gift or condemnation. Such buildings may be erected on any real estate owned by the municipality suitable for the purpose. Amended 1989, c.244, s.2.
