Text
The governing body of any municipality which operated a solid waste collection district as of December 31, 1989, may order and cause to be raised within a solid waste collection district sufficient money to provide for the payment of the cost of solid waste collection or disposal in the district. The sum ordered to be raised shall be levied and collected at the same time and in the same manner as other municipal taxes, except that any tax levied and collected to provide for the payment of the cost of solid waste collection or disposal shall appear as a separate item on the municipal tax bill. The collector shall pay the same to the municipal treasurer, to be applied only to the purposes for which it is raised. L.1991,c.54,s.4.
