5.Which act governs; exclusive jurisdictional basis; applicability. P.L.2012, c.36 (C.3B:12B-1 et al.) governs jurisdiction of guardianship proceedings and provides the exclusive jurisdictional basis for a court of this State to appoint a guardian or issue a protective order. The appointment of a guardian shall continue to be governed by N.J.S.3B:12-1 et seq. and the appointment of a conservator shall continue to be governed by N.J.S.3B:13A-1 et seq. P.L.2012, c.36 (C.3B:12B-1 et al.) shall be construed and applied in conjunction with N.J.S.3B:12-1 et seq. and N.J.S.3B:13A-1 et seq. L.2012, c.36, s.5.
