The term of each member of the county mental health board shall be for 3 years and shall terminate on June 30, provided, however, that of the members first appointed, 1/3 shall be appointed for a term expiring 1 year, 1/3 for a term expiring 2 years, and 1/3 for a term expiring 3 years from June 30 following the date of appointment, and provided further that the members serving on the effective date of this act shall serve until June 30 following the date on which their terms would otherwise have expired. Members may not be reappointed after serving 2 full 3-year terms, until 2 years shall have elapsed since the expiration of such terms. L.1957, c. 146, p. 550, s.
