26:8-60. Each local registrar shall be entitled to receive from the proper disbursing officer of the municipality or county the sum of $1 for each marriage, civil union or domestic partnership certificate properly transmitted to the State Registrar. In any registration district, the body appointing local registrars may, in lieu of fees, provide that officers performing the above service shall receive a fixed compensation to be determined by such body.
