In case the person filing a certificate of birth is unable, by diligent inquiry, to obtain any item or items contemplated in section 26:8-29 of this Title, the local registrar shall secure from the person so reporting, or any other person having the required knowledge, such information as will enable said person to complete the certificate. Amended by L.1965, c. 78, s. 53.
