§ 26:1A-139 — Definitions.

a.As used in this section: "De-identified data" means information that does not identify an individual and for which there is no reasonable basis to believe that the information can be used to identify an individual, and which meets the requirements for de-identification of protected health information under the "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996," Pub.L.104-191, and any regulations adopted pursuant thereto by the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
b.For each reported diagnosis of Legionnaires' disease in the State, the Department of Health, or a local health officer pursuant to subsection f. of this section, shall conduct an epidemiological investigation to ascertain potential sources of infection consistent with the prov
