6.The Commissioner of Human Services may appoint such professional, technical, and clerical assistants and employees as may be necessary to enable the division and the commission to perform the duties imposed upon it by this act and their compensation shall be fixed within the limits of available appropriations and as shall be provided by law. The assistants and employees, together with the director of the division, shall be deemed to be the staff of the division and the commission. The advisory commission shall meet at regular intervals and at least 4 times annually. The times and places for the said meetings shall be fixed by the commission and special meetings may be called by the director on not less than 10 days' written notice to each member, and any such notice shall specify the ob
