26:8-26. Each subregistrar shall note, on each certificate of birth or death, over his signature, the date of filing, and shall forward all certificates to the local registrar of the district within five days, with the exception that in any instance where the subregistrar accepts a certificate for a death not occurring in his district, as permitted by R.S.26:6-6, he shall forward the certificate within 12 hours to the local registrar of his district. A record created on the NJ-EDRS as prescribed by the State registrar shall be deemed to have been forwarded as required by this section. Amended 1965, c.78, s.48; 2003, c.221, s.20.
