§ 26:2K-25 — Certification

a. An EMT-intermediate shall obtain certification from the commissioner to provide pre-hospital intermediate life support services and shall make application therefor on forms prescribed by the commissioner. b. The commissioner, with the approval of the board, shall establish written standards which an EMT-intermediate shall meet in order to obtain certification. The commissioner shall certify a candidate who provides satisfactory completion of an educational program approved by the commissioner for the training of EMT-intermediates and who passes an examination in the provision of intermediate life support services, which shall be conducted by the department at regular intervals. c. The commissioner shall maintain a register of all applications for approval hereunder, which shall include but not be limited to: (1) The name and residence of the applicant; (2) The date of the application; (3) Whether the applicant was rejected or approved and the date of that action. The commissioner shall annually compile a list of certified EMT-intermediates. This list shall be available to the public. L. 1985, c. 351, s. 6.
