19:6-5. Any member of a district board in an election district may be summarily removed from office, with or without cause, and vacancies filled, at any time by the members of the county board of the county in which such election district is located in the manner hereinafter provided. In the case of a member of the district board who was appointed as a member of a political party, removal shall be made by the members of the county board of that political party, and in the case of a member of the district board unaffiliated with a political party at the time of appointment, removal shall be made by the county board.
