18A:49-3. When in any school district there shall have been raised for such purposes, by appropriation and taxation, or by subscription, or both, a sum which in the judgment of the State board shall be sufficient for the maintenance in the district of such an evening school or schools, wherein the course of study or any changes therein shall have been approved by the State board, there shall be paid to the secretary or treasurer of school moneys, as appropriate, of the district toward the maintenance of such evening school or schools, on the order of the commissioner, an amount equal to that so raised, but not exceeding the sum of $5,000.00 in any one year. The amount shall be paid by the State treasurer on the warrant of the director of the division of budget and accounting. L.1967, c.271
