1.
a.Except as otherwise provided in section 2 of this act, a public school student shall have the right to exercise freedom of speech and of the press.
b.By the first full school year next following the date of enactment of this act, each school district shall adopt a written policy concerning student freedom of expression in accordance with the provisions of section 2 of this act. The policy shall include reasonable provisions for the time, place, and manner of student expression. The policy may also include limitations on language that may be defined as profane, harassing, threatening, or intimidating. L. 2021, c.309, s.1.
