1.
a.Each school district may develop and implement a policy requiring all students to carry a school identification card issued by the district while the student is at any school-sponsored, off-campus activity including, but not limited to, field trips or interscholastic sports programs. The provisions of this subsection shall not be construed to require a student to carry the school identification card while participating in an athletic contest or competition, an activity involving fine arts or performing arts, or any other extracurricular activity that the Commissioner of Education determines does not require the physical possession of a school identification card.
