§ 17:32-17 — Definitions

New Jersey·Title 17 CORPORATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS FOR FINANCE AND INSURANCE

The following terms whenever used or referred to in this act shall have the following respective meanings, except in those instances where the context clearly indicates otherwise:

(a)The term "commissioner" shall mean the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance.
(b)The term "insurer" shall mean any person, association or corporation engaged in the transaction of the business of insurance, a shall include, without limitation, interinsurance exchanges and mutual benefit societies. L.1968,c.234,s.2.
