Possession by the commissioner shall be for the sole purpose of serving as a custodian of the safe deposit company until the lessees of the vaults, safe deposit boxes and other receptacles have removed their personal property therefrom after notice from the commissioner or upon removal by the commissioner to a place of safe storage. L.1983, c. 566, s. 17:14A-81.
