Text

Every association of persons composed of representatives from religious societies or congregations of Christians may, at any regular meeting of the association, by a majority vote, by ballot or otherwise, according to the constitution or by-laws of the association, elect any number of members of such association, not exceeding seven, to be its trustees, for the purpose of incorporating such association as hereinafter provided. Such trustees shall proceed in the manner provided in section 16:1-2 of this title, transmitting the certificate therein provided for to the clerk of the county in which the association shall have held the meeting at which the trustees shall have been elected, whereupon they and their successors shall be a corporation by the name of incorporation so taken, certified
