Text
Whenever marine equipment is scrapped, dismantled, destroyed, lost, changed in any manner so that it loses its character as a vessel or hull greater than 12 feet in length, or changed in any manner so that it is not the marine equipment described in the certificate of ownership, or a person permanently relinquishes possession other than by sale, the owner named in the last certificate of ownership shall immediately surrender and deliver the certificate to the director, who shall issue a receipt to the person surrendering the certificate of ownership. Whenever marine equipment is sold to be scrapped, junked or destroyed, assignment shall be made to the purchaser in accordance with the provisions of this act.
