Notwithstanding other provisions of this chapter any elevator or accessibility lift which is periodically inspected and tested for safety under a maintenance contract with the company which installed the elevator or accessibility lift shall be exempt from the annual inspection requirements of RSA 157-B:5, so long as the maintenance contract is effective, and the inspection certificate as provided in RSA 157-B:5 shall be posted in the elevator car or accessibility lift platform. Provided, however, that the other provisions of this chapter shall apply to the elevators and accessibility lifts covered by this exception.
