Any person who is a member of the employees retirement system on July 1, 1962 and who, because of the terms of this chapter shall be transferred and be reclassified as a member of the division of state police or any person who is a member of the employees retirement system on July 1, 1962 and who because of the terms of this chapter shall be transferred and who shall have been a member of the motor vehicle department with inspector's service for 10 years on July 1, 1962 shall have an option to continue his membership in the state employees retirement system or may transfer his membership in said system to the police retirement system in accordance with the provisions of RSA 100:23 and 100:24.
