The state electrical board must consist of six members appointed by the governor for a term
of five years. One member of the board shall represent the public and may not be directly
associated with the electrical industry. The board must include a master electrician who is a
contractor, a journeyman electrician, a consumer member of a rural electric cooperative, an
elevator mechanic, and a person associated with an investor-owned utility. A member of the
board shall qualify by taking the oath of office required of civil officers and shall hold office until
that member's successor is appointed and qualified. The governor shall fill any vacancy by
appointment for the unexpired term of office.
