Text
The department may prosecute an action for any claims arising under this chapter in any
court, may appeal from any adverse judgment to the courts of last resort, and may settle and
compromise the action whenever it is in the best interests of the claimants. Upon payment to the
department of the amount of any compromise, or of the full amount of any required security, the
department may exonerate the person compromising or paying from further liability growing out
of the action.
