An election upon the question of consolidating two or more soil conservation districts must
be conducted in accordance with the laws of the state prescribing the conduct of general
elections. After the polls are closed, the board of election shall canvass the votes and the clerk
of the board shall certify to the board of supervisors of the clerk's district and to the committee
the result of the election.
The committee shall publish the result of the election. If a majority of the ballots cast on the
question in each district are for consolidation, the committee shall file with the secretary of state
a statement certifying that the consolidated district has been duly and regularly established.
