Driver's training course.
1.The director upon receiving proper application may issue a restricted instruction permit
effective for a school year or more restricted period to an applicant who is at least
fourteen years of age and enrolled in a commercial driver training course that includes
practice driving and which is approved by the director of the highway patrol under
chapter 39-25. The restricted instruction permit entitles the permittee when the
permittee has the permit in the permittee's immediate possession to operate a motor
vehicle with an approved instructor occupying a seat beside the permittee and on a
designated highway or within a designated area.
