Text
identification numbers. Any person who with fraudulent intent shall:
1.Deface, destroy, remove, or alter the engine, serial, or identification number of a motor
vehicle;
2.Place or stamp other than the original engine, serial, or identification number, or a
number assigned, upon a motor vehicle; or
3.Sell or offer for sale any motor vehicle bearing an altered or defaced engine, serial, or
identification number, other than the original or a number assigned,
is guilty of a class C felony.
