85-7-1601 . Authority for joint operation of districts. Whenever the board of commissioners of one or more irrigation districts, established and organized by virtue of the provisions of 85-7-101 through 85-7-103 shall, in their discretion, deem it advisable for the best interests of their district to operate, manage, supervise, and maintain the operation of their district jointly with another irrigation district, the said commissioners are hereby authorized and empowered to enter into written contracts for the creation of a joint board of control. Where irrigation works lie partly in the state of Montana and partly in an adjacent state, the board of commissioners may contract with the district or districts in the adjacent state for the creation of a joint board of control.
