53-6-144 . Relative's responsibility. Except as otherwise provided in 53-6-167 through 53-6-169 , 53-6-171 through 53-6-189 , and the provisions of other parts of this title, the only relatives that may be held responsible for payment of medical assistance under the program are the husband or wife of the individual, the parents of children under 18 years of age, and the parents of blind or disabled persons over 18 years of age.
