81-22-601 . Penalties for violations.
(1)A person who violates this chapter, fails to comply with the rules adopted under this chapter, or fails or neglects to obey a lawful order of the department made under this chapter, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
(2)Unless a specific penalty is provided in this chapter or rules for the offense, the offender shall be fined not less than $25 and not more than $500 or imprisoned in the county jail for not to exceed 6 months or both fined and imprisoned.
