72-15-105 . Duty of persons in whose house stranger dies -- notification to public administrator. Whenever a stranger or person without known heirs dies intestate in the house or premises of another, the possessor of the premises or anyone knowing the facts shall give immediate notice to the public administrator of the county. If the possessor does not give the notice, the possessor is liable for any damage that may be sustained by the failure, which must be recovered by the public administrator or any person interested.
