Text

The commission shall so plan and conduct its operations and projects that if the legislature subsequently enacts legislation creating a single multipurpose metropolitan public agency to handle a variety of problems affecting the transit area, and gives such agency powers and duties relating to public transit which are substantially the same as or greater than those given the commission by sections458A.01to458A.15, with provisions which result in making the commission subject to such agency or merging the commission therein or transferring the powers and duties of the commission thereto or terminating the existence of the commission or otherwise disposing of its affairs, the commission will be prepared to comply therewith in accordance with the intent of the legislature.
